2019 will mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the man who led India in its fight for freedom. Born on 2nd October 1869, Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, dedicated his whole life towards fighting for equality and freedom. He was a one-man-army who began a conscious search for non-violent possibilities to deal with a number of major national and international issues. His benevolent ways and persistence consequently changed the course of Indian as well as world history since he became an inspiration to many world leaders and freedom fighters including – Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, Daisaku Ikeda and Petra Kelly. To honour Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birthday, innumerable number of events are being organised in the country and abroad. One such celebration, a cycling event is taking place this month on 17th March 2019 in Hong Kong. So, keep yourself free this Sunday morning and join in at Holford Garden, Tai Wai. The event will commence at 8 am and will be concluded by around 10 am. Even if you don’t have a bicycle, you can come since bicycles, T-shirts, water, refreshments, sports drinks and first aid will be provided by the organisers. Free of cost pick-up arrangements via a bus can also be availed from TST – South Sea Mansion and Admiralty Centre for the day. The cycling event has been organised by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (HK), the organization that brought the award-winning theatrical play ‘YUGPURUSH” to Hong Kong.
